The ‘Khadayata’ caste in the Baniya/ Vania community among Hindus was originated in the state of Gujarat in India. The વાણિયા (Gujarati) or बनिया ( Hindi) world is originated from the vahania વહાણિયા in which વહાણ‌ means Ship. The cast which travels in ships for trading overseas is Vaniya.
